PODCAST & LIVE STREAM: LET’S REVIVE THE AMERICAN DREAM —TRUMP’S CHINA FIASCO, AMERICA FEELS STUCK

Today’s topic: Let’s revive the American Dream.

I talk about my own background alongside my cohost Tony, and how upward mobility in America feels dead for a huge number of people. We discuss why so many Americans say “both parties suck” — and honestly, there’s truth to that. But we also talk about how one party currently controls virtually everything at the national level, and Republicans control Niagara County locally.

At some point, democracy requires pushback. It requires tension. Even if you think Democrats are flawed, does anyone really think one-party control with zero accountability is healthy?

Then we get into Trump and China — and what an absolute fiasco it all is.

Did you know Trump brought Hollywood producer Brett Ratner on a China trip? Yes, the same Brett Ratner accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women and reportedly connected to Epstein-related reporting and photos. Somehow THAT was part of America’s image abroad.

It’s bizarre. It’s embarrassing. And it perfectly captures how unserious and chaotic modern American politics has become.

We break all of it down live.

IS NATE A RADICAL COMMUNIST? HARDLY LET’S GO THROUGH THE ISSUES.

Apparently wanting people to have healthcare, not loving endless wars, and thinking normal people should be able to afford a house now makes you Karl Marx with a Buffalo accent.

So today we do a full review.

    Issue by issue.

    Healthcare.

    The economy.

    Taxes.

    Infrastructure.

    The American Dream.

What I actually believe — and what people keep pretending I believe.

Because somewhere along the way, politics became this weird game where if you support one policy people immediately scream: COMMUNIST! SOCIALIST! RADICAL!

Fine. Let’s actually talk about it.

Then we get into Trump saying he “doesn’t care” about the economy.

People can spin it however they want, but with this guy every day feels like another strange episode. Every day there’s another comment, another controversy, another moment where everyone immediately rushes to explain what he really meant.

TRUMP IS SUCH A FAKE! ENOUGH ALREADY!

We do a quick review because honestly… what is even happening anymore?

PODCAST CLIP: THEY DIDN’T EVEN SHOW UP

I attended a candidate forum hosted by the Niagara Gazette, the leading newspaper in our district. My opponent didn’t show up. In fact, no Republican candidates showed up.

Think about that. A major newspaper offers candidates a chance to answer questions from voters, and they simply don’t come. Why? Because too many politicians believe they don’t have to. They think the party label is enough. They think you’ll vote for them anyway.

Democracy requires accountability. If you’re asking for people’s votes, you should be willing to answer their questions. I showed up. I answered every question. The question is: why won’t they?

WE ARE AT A CROSSROADS IN WESTERN NEW YORK

First, GO KNICKS! That was one of the best basketball games I’ve ever watched. Pure heart. Pure grit. OG LEGEND! Now, the serious stuff. We are at a crossroads in Western New York. They want data centers along the Niagara River. They want thousands of acres of farmland covered with solar panels. They want clear-cutting and overdevelopment on Grand Island. And here’s the question: with Republicans controlling almost every level of local government, BUT THEY BLAME DEMOCRATS? Weird. They already approved data centers in Niagara County. Now they want more. They promise jobs. They promise prosperity. Where is it? The real money is going to developers, consultants, lawyers, and investors. The people who live here get the noise, the traffic, the lost farmland, and the lost natural beauty. Fight back while you still can. I also talked about the growing crisis surrounding Iran. The finger-pointing has already started. Excuses are being made. But this is a serious moment for our country, and leaders must be held accountable. That’s how democracy works. And speaking of accountability… I attended candidate forums this week. Guess who didn’t show up? The Republicans. At forum after forum, they’re not taking questions. They’re not debating. They’re not facing voters. Even at the Cambria Town Hall, residents were frustrated by the lack of real answers. Democracy requires participation. If you’re asking for your vote, you should be willing to answer questions. Speak up. Get involved. Make your voice heard. Because if we don’t shape the future of this region, someone else will.

NATECAST: THE $30 MILLION SOLAR QUESTION; THE IRAN MESS3. WHO GETS TO DECIDE WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

Tomorrow is the Cambria Town Hall, and I have questions. The same Niagara County Republican leadership that promised voters they would stop this massive solar project now wants to help fund it with roughly $30 million in public support. Why? Who benefits? Who’s making money? The company behind the project is a profitable foreign corporation based in Sweden. If the project is such a great investment, why does it need millions from taxpayers? And why did politicians who promised to stop it suddenly change their tune? We’ll break it all down. Trump walked out of an interview complaining that the media hates him. But let’s be honest: the only major media company forced to pay nearly $800 million to settle a defamation lawsuit was Fox News. Meanwhile, war with Iran continues, Americans are getting conflicting information, and nobody seems interested in asking tough questions. Is anyone paying attention? I also discuss the controversy surrounding comments and policies that many Mormons view as attempts to declare that they are not Christians. Whether you’re Mormon or not isn’t really the point. In America, government shouldn’t be deciding which religions are in and which religions are out. Mormons believe in Jesus Christ. They read the Bible. They consider themselves Christians. You don’t have to agree with their theology, but government officials labeling faith groups as acceptable or unacceptable should concern everyone. It’s another reminder that freedom of religion means freedom for everyone.

  • I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE — AND NIAGARA CAN HAVE ONE TOOOn this week’s NateCast:

I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE — AND NIAGARA CAN HAVE ONE TOOOn this week’s NateCast:

    On this week’s NateCast:

First, I dive deeper into why Niagara Falls needs to move forward with the proposed Civic Center and convention center project. For too long, wealth generated in Niagara Falls has been used to benefit other communities while our city was left behind. From power revenues to state investments, Niagara Falls has given far more than it has received. It’s time we start reclaiming what belongs here and investing in a future worthy of one of the most famous destinations on Earth.

I HAVE SEEN WHAT VISION CAN DO!

I have seen massive societal change in Asia. I have watched cities transform, economies explode with growth, and entire countries reinvent themselves in a single generation because people refused to accept decline as their destiny. That experience taught me something important: communities do not move forward by thinking small. They move forward by dreaming bigger, investing in themselves, and believing that a better future is possible. It’s time for Niagara County to do the same.

We have incredible assets, world-famous attractions, hardworking people, and enormous potential. Instead of accepting stagnation, let’s start building, growing, creating opportunity, and yes—making some cash. The future belongs to communities that believe in themselves. Why not us?

Next, I discuss the massive solar projects in Cambria and Pendleton and the politicians who told residents they would stop them—only to turn around and help fund them. Don’t take my word for it. Look at the public records, follow the votes, and decide for yourself.

I also break down the biggest stories of the week, including Elon Musk’s growing influence and the race to become the world’s first trillionaire, unrest and race-related tensions in the United Kingdom, major national political developments, and the stories that may shape the future of America and Western New York.

And finally, a little sports talk:

    GO KNICKS!
